Dean Graziosi quote

The first day of my new job as a recruiter assistant was terrifying. I launched myself, headfirst into an industry I’ve never heard of before. One day, I was a software developer in a research lab in a super stable 9 to 5. I sat in a room with one other developer, we didn’t face each other, nor did we talk to each other regularly. He had his headphones on, and we would send each other instant messages instead of talking. I was wrapped in a silent bubble and it was all rainbows and sunshine!

First day on the job as a recruiter assistant, everyone, all 20 people sat in one big room, everyone was on the phone, it was loud, and the only thing between us were only very low dividers. It was like I was launched into the set of Wolf on Wall Street. After a short one-hour training, I was told to get on the phone.

I had no idea what I got myself into. Where do I start? I felt like everyone was listening and everyone was watching me. I miss hiding behind the dual monitors in a quite office. All I felt was sheer panic. I dialed a few numbers and got asked questions I didn’t have any answers to, got hung up a few times, some people just yelled.

After a few days of this, it felt like years, that’s when I realized, no one was really paying any attention to me! Even the people I spoke to a couple days ago that probably thought I was a total idiot…
