4 tips that will help you.as it is one of the keys to build self-confidence

I sit here after a long day debating with myself whether to publish an article or not, the conversation goes something like this…

I committed to myself that I would publish every day for a year, 365 days this year. It has only been 19 days and I already want to break the commitment!?

It has been 19 days straight, I am not a writer, it should be something to celebrate. Maybe I will publish 2 articles tomorrow.

Both very compelling arguments in my mind, especially as I sit here late at night. Then it donned on me the lesson on a simple way to build self-confidence, it is to keep the promises you made to yourself.

I learned that every time you do not keep a commitment or a promise to yourself, it causes something called cognitive dissonance. Simply put, you feel pulled by 2 different thoughts that contradicts each other, as a result you feel the discomfort of it. I find that it drains my energy and every time I do not follow through on something I said I would, I feel it chips away at my self-confidence.

Which is why my cold shower in the morning experiment gave me such a boost:
