From a closet introvert…

I don’t typically tell people, but I’m an introvert. If you meet me now, you probably won’t suspect it, especially since in my role as a recruiter, all I do is talk to people every single day.

My family immigrated from Hong Kong to a small town, Regina, Saskatchewan when I was young. Growing up in a small town as someone who didn’t speak English turns a shy kid into someone who wanted to be invisible. The more I blended into the background the better.

Coding and hiding behind the computer screen seemed like the natural fit. When I learned that I really sucked at programming and landed the job as a recruiter, I needed to learn the art of selling and I needed to learn it fast. My livelihood depended on it.

In a world where we are managed by the number of people I talk to and meet with on a daily basis, I tried to do what every around me did.

Overtime, I learned how to use my strengths in sales as an introvert, here are the 3 things I learned that really helped:
